  ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT SITES

    ARTS ORGANIZATIONS
      BEL AIR FESTIVAL FOR THE ARTS
    Annual display of fine art, handmade crafts, live entertainment and fun foods. Sponsored by the Bel Air Recreation Committee. Usually held in Shamrock Park.

    CENTER FOR THE VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS
    Dedicated to establishing a center in Harford County, accessible to all, to nurture artists, the arts and the community by providing educational classes, performances and exhibits in the disciplines of music, dance, theater and the visual and literary arts. Located in Bel Air.

    HARFORD ARTISTS ASSOCIATION
    A non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of fine art in Harford County. Monthly meetings feature lectures, critiques and demonstrations open to the public. Shows, exhibitions and workshops are presented throughout the year.

  2. The only local (but not locally owned) newspaper, published twice weekly. Also publishes The Record, The Weekender, APG News, and the Harford Business Ledger.

  4. She does freelance work in graphics, photography, fine art and web design.

  5. Art by Judith Bates
  6. A graduate of the Schuler School of Fine Arts in Baltimore, she does portraits of dogs and other pets; also does wildlife and landscapes. Located in Whiteford.

  7. Bay Country Gentlemen
  8. The chapter provides activities, musical leadership and teaching resources for singing barbershop harmony. They desire to share this unique art form and preserve the heritage of barbershop quartet and chorus singing for future generations.

  9. Bel Air Community Band
  10. This 90-piece band gives area musicians the chance to perform a variety of music in Harford County and neighboring states. It performs in support of the Town of Bel Air during public functions, and also presents concerts at Harford Community College.

  22. She has "extensive experience in educational theatre and ... recently played roles professionally at venues on the East Coast." Performs at parties and other events. She now teaches elementary music and chorus, and offers voice lessons.

  23. Everything Bagels
  24. An eclectic avant-groove jazz quartet based in northern Harford County, the group plays up and down the East Coast, from the Knitting Factory in New York City to Fletchers in Baltimore.

  25. Freedom Road Productions
  26. Music group that fosters and promotes traditional, contemporary and multicultural folk, jazz, bluegrass, blues and other grassroots music in Harford County.

  27. Harford Artists Association

  34. Since 1989, the local business-to-business news publication about people and events making corporate news in the county. Located in Havre de Grace.

  35. Harford Cable Network
  36. Their goal is to bring you local programs, news and events over the Comcast and Clearview cable networks within its mission of providing public access to the county's cable system.

  37. Harford County Farm Fair
  38. A mix of shows and races performed around 4-H livestock displays, sales, and contests for ribbons for the best vegetables, art, clothing, flowers, house pets and more. The biggest annual event in Harford County.

  39. Harford Choral Society
  40. Founded in 1954 with the goal of providing quality choral music locally, the Society presents two major concerts each season. Works range from classics to more contemporary composers, and local artists as well.

  41. Havre de Grace Decoy Museum
  42. Located on the banks of the historic Susquehanna River flats, the Havre de Grace Decoy Museum houses one of the finest collections ever assembled of working decoys from the Chesapeake Bay.

  49. Local Origination.Com, Inc.
  50. Web-based communications software that facilitates creation, editing and publishing of interactive training sessions, questionnaires, newsletters and other presentations on-line. Located in Bel Air.

  51. Maryland Conservatory of Music
  52. A non-profit with a mission to offer children and adults quality music training. Director and founder is Dr. Duke Thompson, a native of the county. Located in Bel Air on the campus of the John Carroll School.

  53. Maryland School of Ballet and Modern Dance
  54. Offers the only certified Authentic Pilates™ instruction in Harford County. They have a fully equipped studio, and all instructors are certified. Their new facility features a 1,200 sq.-ft. dance studio with a professional Airbase wood floor, mirrors, barres and the finest stereo equipment. They offer classes in ballet, pointe, modern and jazz. Located in Bel Air.

  55. Memory Lane Press
  56. MiMi Zannino's web site offers resources that help children strengthen their creative thinking and writing skills. Ms. Zannino has conducted writing workshops with thousands of students and educators throughout Maryland.

  57. Oak Grove Quartet
  58. Featuring the best in Southern gospel music. "Sharing Christ through song."
  59. Paned Expressions Studios, Inc.
  60. Glass artists specializing in the custom design and fabrication of stained, etched and carved glass for home and office. All pieces are one of a kind creations and are signed by the artists. Located in Edgewood.

  61. Premier Entertainment Resources
  62. A full-time staff of professional DJ entertainers, for weddings, corporate events, parties, light shows and more. Located in Forest Hill.

  63. Ramblewood Resort
  64. A rustic resort on 200 acres in northern Harford County with natural campground, pools, lake, meeting and dining halls, cabins, sports fields, and more. Designed for group rentals.

  65. Rockfield Manor
  66. Official site of The Rockfield Manor, a manor house built in 1920 in Bel Air and surrounded by acres of beautiful gardens. Owned by the town of Bel Air.

  67. Susquehanna Music and Arts Festival
  68. Promotes awareness and appreciation of traditional and contemporary folk music and arts in the surrounding areas. Held in Darlington each year.

  69. Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra
  70. A non-profit community orchestra for Harford County, founded in 1978 by Sheldon Bair. The full orchestra has approximately 80 members. It specializes in new and unusual repertoire, often featuring unjustly neglected works.

  71. TeenZone
  72. A Harford County Public Library web site designed for high school teens. The site features library programs, graded reading lists, recommended web sites, and more.

  73. Theron Day
  74. Eclectic singer/songwriter, award winner at the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest. Also offers one of Harford County's few recording studios, called Porkchop Studios.

  75. Upper Chesapeake Chorus
  76. The group, begun in 1975, sings four-part a cappella harmony in the barbershop style. It is a member of Atlantic Bay-Mountain Region #19 of Sweet Adelines. Music education, for both individual and ensemble singing, is a major goal of the chorus.

  77. Wee Ones
  78. An online children's magazine devoted to bringing children and parents together through reading, learning and having fun. Designed for young children between the ages of 3 and 8. Located in Darlington.

  79. WHFC-FM 91.1
  80. Harford Community Radio. From talk shows to music that you won't find anywhere else, they're always looking to suit the tastes of their listeners.
