It can be confusing, since the community of Joppatowne and the extensive Joppa area share the same zip code. The present Joppa area is quite extensive and covers a sufficient part of Harford County. You may be surprised just who has a Joppa address!
"In your recent editorial, "Is It Joppa or Joppatowne?", Joppa does not cover an extensive part of Harford County as stated. Joppa is located around Old Mountain Road near Route 7. Just because their envelopes have a Joppa address on it doesn't mean they live in Joppa. It just means their mail passes through the Joppa Post Office. Joppa was never Old Joppa. Old Joppa was a part of early county history and is different from Joppa." |
